Tributes have been paid to a Fife man who died in an accident with a car on Christmas Eve.
Jerzy Dudek, who was 43, was walking on the A921 between Burntisland and Kinghorn at around 6.45pm when the accident happened.
He moved to Scotland from Poland five years ago and lived in Kinghorn with his wife Malgorzata and their two children.
They have described him as a husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved his family.
In a statement issued via Fife Police, they said they were devastated by his sudden death and added that while it was never easy to lose a loved one, it was particularly hard at a time of year when families were meant to be together.
Mr Dudek worked as a scaffolder at BiFab in Burntisland and was said to be highly thought of by his colleagues.
“Jerzy always spoke highly of his colleagues and gaffer and they could count on him to get the job done,” said the family. “His colleagues have told the family that Jerzy would always talk about his family, taking his laptop to work and showing pictures of the family, and was very proud of them.”
Described as a “gentle giant”, Mr Dudek was a tall man with a big heart who quickly relaxed people in his presence. His family said he would introduce himself and make conversation and was always friendly, polite and sincere to everyone.
Adding that Mr Dudek was a happy man, they said he liked to share his happiness with others by making people laugh at his stories and jokes.
