THE CHRISTMAS spirit has arrived in the seaside village of Elie after residents, parents and businesses managed to raise £1,437 at a Christmas fair.
Organised by Elie Primary School parent teacher association (PTA) with the aim of raising funds for the youngsters, the fair was a huge success and the children were thrilled to see Santa, who managed to spare a few minutes to pop in.
Businesses donated an amazing range of prizes to the raffle drawn on the day.
The PTA thanked Bibi’s Bakery, the Peat Inn, Cardinal Sports, Stuart Barton Physiotherapy, Elie Newsagents, Ardross Farm Shop, the Ship Inn, Elie Pharmacy, Feather Your Nest, local artist Jennifer Thomson, Elie Deli, Appleton, Elie Sports Club, the Pavilion, the Station Buffet Bar and Elie Watersports for their generosity.
Elie Primary head teacher Maggie Mackay said: “This is an amazing sum of money which will be put to good use for school excursions next year to support class projects, along with materials for the classroom, sports equipment and will allow us to continue to offer the great range of after school clubs we run.”
She continued: “A big thank you to everyone involved.”
