The driver of a silver 4X4 could hold valuable information about a violent robbery outside a Perth supermarket, police believe.
Officers launched a fresh witness appeal nearly two weeks after a woman was mugged while getting into her car outside Morrisons supermarket on Caledonian Road.
A man, described as being in his mid-20s, entered the woman’s black Saab via the passenger door brandishing a large knife. He snatched her mobile phone before fleeing the scene. The mobile was later recovered nearby.
The woman was said to be “extremely shaken” by her experience but unhurt.
The incident on December 22 took place at around 6.40pm, when the store car park was “extremely busy”. Police are urging shoppers who may have seen the man responsible to get in touch.
On December 29 officers revisited the scene and learned that at the time of the incident a man parked a silver vehicle, described as an “expensive looking” 4×4 or pick-up, in the car park.
He reportedly had to retrieve an item that had fallen from the vehicle.
Police are eager to speak to this man as it is believed he may have information.
The thief was of slim build, around 5ft 7in, and he was wearing a light coloured hooded top, hat and checked scarf.
