A Perthshire motorist who drove at more than 115mph has been banned from the road and fined £700.
At Perth Sheriff Court, William Ireland (36), of Lochay Drive, Comrie, admitted that on June 3 on the A9, near Greenloaning, he drove at 117mph. The limit is 70mph.
The court heard Ireland was caught on the Stirling to Perth section of the road.
Sentencing Ireland, Sheriff Lindsay Foulis told him: “In some ways you are lucky you are not facing another charge here.”
In addition, Ireland was banned from driving for a year.
