Drivers have been warned to expect delays as a £250,000 programme of resurfacing work gets underway on the northbound M9 between the Craigforth junction and Keir Roundabout tomorrow.
The improvements will be carried out over two consecutive weekends and the first phase of the works, postponed from June 6 due to adverse weather conditions, will begin at 8pm.
The second phase will get underway on June 20, to be completed by June 23 at 6am.
A contra-flow traffic management system will be in place over both weekends with one lane in operation for each direction of traffic.
A lane closure will be in place on the Keir Roundabout itself as well as on the southbound A9 approach to the roundabout, with a speed limit of 40mph.
Delays of around 15 minutes are expected during Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Ian Stewart of BEAR Scotland said: “This section of the M9 is used by thousands of vehicles every day and is now in need of upgrading.
“We have planned the works to be carried out over two weekends to help minimise disruption but we still encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance where possible.”
The section of road is used by around 19,000 vehicles every day.
