Tayside Mountain Rescue opened its new St John Scotland base in east Perthshire at the weekend.
The facility at Skirmie Park, Welton Road, Blairgowrie, will mean volunteers will have a dedicated training and operational base. Tayside Mountain Rescue is a collaboration of civilian and police teams.
The base has been provided by the care charity St John Scotland and will be a focal point for mountain rescue across the area.
It will also support national training for mountain rescue, with Tayside at the forefront of skills relative to rigging and canyon rescue.
Those present on Saturday included senior members of the Order of St John, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and Dundee Lord Provost Bob Duncan, Angus Provost Helen Oswald, and Perth and Kinross Provost Elizabeth Grant.
