A Perth shop has said it is no longer selling so-called legal highs after £6,000 of the chemicals were seized from the premises.
Police officers and council trading standards officers raided This N That on County Place on Wednesday.
A spokesman for the shop said that following the raid they were now concentrating on other aspects of the business.
He said: “The police and trading standards took everything and we are no longer selling legal highs.
“We are now concentrating on selling vaping products.”
Campaigner Katie Della Bennett, who has organised multiple protests outside the shop, said the news was a “major victory” for her group Perth Against Legal Highs.
She said: “It’s fantastic, I’m absolutely over the moon. It’s a major victory for us.
“We’ve had people from all over Scotland supporting our cause, local shops helping and over 600 signatures on our petition we’ve come a long way from where we started.
“It’s just the tip of the iceberg but it shows we are able to do it.
“We can’t take full credit but we did pile on a lot of pressure.
“Our next demo was going to be on January 9 but it looks like we won’t have to do that any more.
“As long as we see no more zombies walking around town, that’s the main thing. Merry Christmas, and peace and love to all the families that have been saved.”
A spokeswoman for Perth and Kinross Council said: “Trading Standards is currently involved in a co-ordinated Scottish-wide operation regarding the sale and distribution of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) or so-called legal highs together with other trading standards teams around the country and Police Scotland.
“We can confirm that a quantity of NPS has been either surrendered or seized following recent visits to premises in the local area.”
The chemicals will now be analysed to determine their content.
