A fatal crash on the A9 was not caused by the average speed cameras, it has been claimed.
Two men, named on Friday as Mark Brodie, 48, of Leven, and James Williamson, 47, of Perth, died when their vehicles collided head on near Dunkeld on Thursday evening.
Perth and North Perthshire MP Pete Wishart said he believed the speed-cutting devices had played no part in the tragedy.
Passing on his condolences to the families affected by the tragedy, he added: “I am absolutely confident that this terrible accident has nothing to do with the road safety improvement measures that have been introduced on the A9.”
