BLAIRGOWRIE Library is to close for a month to allow refurbishment works to be carried out.
In a bid to improve the service for users, flooring, lighting and painting work will all be carried out as part of a new layout at the Leslie Street premises.
The library will close its doors on Saturday at 1pm and will reopen on Monday February 25.
During the closure arrangements will be put in place to minimise the inconvenience to customers, with a mobile library in the Wellmeadow car park three times a week to allow readers to borrow and return books and audio visual items.
Requested items can also be collected from the mobile library, or arrangements can be made to collect them at any other library.
Computer access is available at Alyth and Coupar Angus libraries, and advance booking is advised.
Bookbug Rhymetime sessions will take place in Blairgowrie Community Campus at their usual times on Mondays and Tuesdays.
A spokeswoman for Perth and Kinross Council apologised for any inconvenience and added: “Staff members look forward to welcoming everyone back to the improved library in February.”
