MOTORISTS WILL suffer frustrations due to roadworks on the M90 from next week.
Road safety improvements will be carried out on the bridge, which carries the M90 over the A912 at Bridge of Earn.
The works start on Wednesday and will involve upgrading the existing parapet on the southbound carriageway.
Set to last 10 days, the £50,000 project is funded by Transport Scotland.
Eddie Ross, trunk road operator BEAR Scotland’s North East representative, explained: “The bridge parapet needs to be brought up to current design standards to improve its road safety performance.
“Whilst every effort will be made to minimise disruption to motorists, some delays may be expected. We would encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time.”
A spokesperson said: “For the safety of workers and motorists, works will be carried out using a southbound lane closure, and a speed limit of 50mph will be in force throughout the works.
“Traffic lights will also be set up on the A912 on Thursday December 13 to allow the safe removal of the existing parapet above.
“Real-time journey planning information can be obtained by visiting trafficscotland.org.”
The works will be carried out by BEAR Scotland and contractor Varley & Gulliver and were planned in consultation with Perth and Kinross Council and Tayside Police.
