Abertay University has teamed up with a technology programme to run a computer games contest.
The aim is to find new ways to use games technology and entrants will compete to win grants of up to £25,000 to help develop prototypes.
They are expected to come up with ideas for social and music games and novel uses of digital creative content, or find ways of applying gaming processes to other uses.
Paul Durrant, Abertay’s director of business development, said, “Game technology is now being applied widely outside the traditional computer games industry, offering fantastic opportunities for skilled graduates to work in a wide range of UK businesses.”
Dr Nick Appleyard, spokesman for Abertay’s partner IC Tomorrow, said, “The contest is a great way for the university to connect with new audiences and support UK entrepreneurs to develop and commercialise creative content.”
