Pupils were challenged to ponder psychology and religion when they were visited by an eminent social psychologist.

Professor David Myers spoke to pupils from Madras College, St Leonards School, Bell Baxter High School and Waid Academy at Madras College before delivering a public lecture in the Younger Hall, St Andrews.

The professor teaches psychological science to students and the general public and has written for numerous journals including Science, the American Scientist and Christian Century.

He was the latest speaker in the James Gregory series of lectures on science and religion.
