Pedestrian dies in accident with lorry on Edinburgh city bypass

A man has died after he was hit by a lorry outside Edinburgh.
A Mercedes HGV hit a pedestrian on the A720 Edinburgh city bypass at the Lothianburn junction on the westbound carriageway at 11.40pm yesterday.
The 35-year-old man died at the scene.
No other vehicles or people were involved in the incident.
A section of the westbound carriageway of the bypass was closed for four hours while emergency services attended the scene and police carried out an investigation.
