One of the world’s largest ocean liners has berthed off the coast of Dun Laoghaire after leaving Scotland.
At 1,132ft (345m), the RMS Queen Mary II is the flagship of the Cunard fleet.
It is made up of 14 decks, including a 3D cinema and planetarium, and carries about 2,600 passengers.
The Queen Mary II is making its maiden visit to Dun Laoghaire and is the first of 14 ships to use the port this year, bringing more than 30,000 cruise passengers, and an income of 3 million euro to the south Dublin region.
The liner docked for the day about 1.2 nautical miles offshore from the old coal harbour at the west pier.
The ship departed Greenock for Dun Laoghaire on Wednesday evening and will continue back across the Irish Sea to Holyhead and Liverpool tonight followed by visits to Invergordon, Stavanger in Norway and then Hamburg in Germany.
