Coming up in Wednesday’s Courier Lard

Coming up in Wednesday’s Courier Lard

It is 1947 and I am popping down to the shops.

I am a typical kind of fellow and, as such, within my basket will be:

*A wild rabbit (unskinned)

*A corset (back-lacing)

*Lard (slab of)

*Lamp oil (one gallon thereof)

Fast-forward to the present day and replacing the aforementioned delicacies will be the likes of pizza, craft ales and mobile phone accessories.

What does that tell you (other than life in 1947 must have been absolutely ghastly)?

Find out in Wednesday’s Courier as we reflect on some pretty remarkable changes in society over the last 65 years or so.

Meanwhile, do you remember this remarkable story outlining the The Courier’s links with Spanish cracks Sevilla FC?

It was something of a corker.

In our midweek Courier find out how the story has moved on further immortalising The Courier’s lofty position in Seville. Which is nice.

Neighbours. Everybody needs good neighbours.

And, I ‘ve heard it said, that with a little bit of that all important understanding it is eminently possible to find the perfect blend.

Furthermore, worth remembering that if and only if neighbours are there for one another, then there is every chance that good neighbours will indeed become good friends.

But can you believe it is three decades since Neighbours hit our TV screens?

Well it is.

We reflect on seminal moments including Scott and Charlene’s wedding, Bouncer’s dream and Doug’s majestic magic mushroom experience.

Tuesday also marked St Patrick’s Day. A jolly nice day.

Enjoying it to the max was, among others, Kate Middleton.

She’s due to give birth next month. Coo, isn’t she lovely etc etc.

More on her Shamrock-related antics in Wednesday’s Courier.
