Support for a No vote in the independence referendum has risen by two points since April, according to a new poll.
The survey, conducted by YouGov for the Sun newspaper, found that when undecided voters were removed, support for staying in the UK had increased to 60% compared to 40% backing a Yes vote, which dropped of two points since the public’s temperature was taken in the spring.
YouGov surveyed 1,039 Scottish adults between June 12 and 16, asking them: “Should Scotland be an independent country?”
The poll said 31% of Scottish women want Scotland to become independent, with 56% saying they were planning to vote to keep the UK.
Online abuse directed at JK Rowling after she came out in favour of the Union and donated £1 million to Better Together also made 12% of Scottish voters more likely to vote No in September, according to the poll.
