Pars boss happy with transfer dealings

Dunfermline boss John Potter has declared himself satisfied with his transfer dealings in the last month or so and admitted there might still be one more new face to come.

Potter only got the manager’s job at East End Park just days before the January transfer window opened but he has managed to shape his squad to his liking, bringing in the likes of Jim Paterson, Andy Barrowman, Kyle McAusland, David Hopkirk and, most recently, former Celtic youth winger Paul George.

And the Pars boss revealed he has been working on one further loan deal for an as yet unnamed player that he hopes to get over the line next week.

“We have lost five players as well but these players have come in and I thought that the squad needed to be freshened up,” he stressed.

“I’m delighted with all the business I have done and I think these players will prove to be good signings.”

Potter secured his first win as boss at Ayr last time out and he will be looking to repeat the feat when they host Stenhousemuir on Saturday.

With the Pars’ Development League squad running out 3-2 winners over Rangers earlier this week, the manager is delighted to see some healthy competition for places ahead of that important League One clash.

“When you play those games and you have a few first team players playing, I like to see their attitude, their professionalism in the game, and that was first class,” he concluded.
