Dundee United to receive £35,000 from stricken Rangers

Dundee United are set to receive £35,000 of the outstanding cash owed to them by Rangers from their William Hill Scottish Cup tie in February.
The SFA has announced that the money will be deducted from the Glasgow side’s share of broadcasting revenue from the game at Ibrox, the last home match before the financially-stricken Old Firm side entered administration.
However, United are still pursuing a further £32,000 they are owed from the tie and the matter is subject to a ruling by the SFA’s judiciary panel which will take place later this month.
An SFA statement confirmed: “The Scottish FA has notified Dundee United that they will this week receive £35,000 of the outstanding money from their William Hill Scottish Cup tie against Rangers in February.
“This money will help meet part of the overdue amount payable to the club and has been offset from broadcasting revenue from the competition that, under normal circumstances, would have been distributed to Rangers.
“The Scottish FA has informed both clubs.”
A statement from the Tannadice outfit stated: “Dundee United would like to thank the Scottish FA for their assistance in this matter.”
