The timing has been slightly delayed but the objective remains exactly the same for Third Division high-flyers Arbroath, who welcome East Stirling to Gayfield on Tuesday night.
Paul Sheerin’s men had been all set to try to stretch their unbeaten run before the frost got in the way of the weekend encounter but he is happy the fixture has been quickly rescheduled.
“I spoke to the chairman on Saturday morning and was suited and booted ready to head up, so the call-off was a disappointment,” the manager said.
“There is going to be a backlog of games so it is good that we’ve been able to fix it up so quickly and get it out of the way.”
With Stranraer having lost out at Elgin, a Lichties win would see them leapfrog the west coast side into pole position ahead of a weekend Stair Park meeting.
Sheerin has a strong squad available and was using a training session on Monday night to firmly cement his starting plans.
Shire defender Alex Walker is out through suspension following his sending off against Clyde and they have doubts over Dean Richardson, Craig Donaldson, Paul Hay and Stephen Maguire, who picked up knocks in the Scottish Cup win over Buckie.
