Cowdenbeath boss wants his players to keep their heads up

Cowdenbeath boss Jimmy Nicholl is determined to keep his players upbeat this week following their defeat at Livingston.
The Blue Brazil had hoped to close the gap on the teams above them with a win on Saturday, but it was not to be as Jason Talbot’s goal for the hosts earned John McGlynn’s men a 1-0 win.
Cowden remain four points adrift of safety with 10 games remaining, although defeats for eighth-placed Raith and seventh-placed Alloa, who visit Central Park this weekend, has given them hope of clawing their way back into the body of the league.
“I was quite comfortable at half-time at 0-0 and then second half was the same thing, I thought we defended well and everything was going well and then it was slack play from us,” Nicholl said.
“All-in-all I was disappointed with the way we conceded the goal, but I can’t be hard on the players from where we were to where we are now is a big difference.
“It was a missed opportunity because we wanted to get ourselves closer to the pack, but other teams being beaten above us means we’ve just got to beat Alloa at home to make a wee bit of headway in the table.”
