Dunfermline have snapped up journeyman striker Mickael Antoine-Curier following a successful trial period with the club.
The 32-year-old, who boasts 63 goals in Scottish football during several stints with Hamilton, Hibernian and Dundee, was on the books of Burton Albion last term, helping Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side win promotion to League One.
However, he left England during the close season and has been training with the Pars for several weeks in a bid to win a deal with the Allan Johnston’s Fifers.
“He brings us something different,” explained the Pars boss.
“When you look at the strikers that we have got, they are all playing really well and it just keeps everybody on their toes when you have somebody of the quality of Mickael coming in as well.
“He is a proven goalscorer but he will have to work hard to get into the team.”
Dunfermline is Antoine-Curier’s 20th different club in senior football, having also turned out in France, England, Norway, Cyprus, Malaysia and Kazakhstan during a varied career.
He adds to a wealth of attacking talent at the Pars, with the prolific Faissal El Bakhtaoui, Ryan Wallace and Michael Moffat all impressing for Johnston’s men as they marched to the top of the table.
The capture of the Guadeloupe internationalist follows hot on the heels of highly-rated former Queen’s Park defender Shaun Rooney joining Dunfermline on Friday night.
