Montrose make the trip north to Elgin on usual lines with manager Stuart Garden frustrated by not being able to add new faces for their meeting with the managerless Borough Briggs side.
Garden has been looking to add new bodies after a run of one win in 10 games. However, his search has been fruitless so far.
The Links Park boss said: “In the past week I have spoken to over 10 managers and a greater number of players but so far no one has put pen to paper.
“Everyone I have spoken to wants to see what happens next week and that is really annoying when you want to strengthen now.
“We are facing a difficult game as Elgin will be looking for a reaction from their players following a parting of the ways with Ross Jack as well as losing to Queen’s Park last weekend.
“Every time we have played them this season their goalkeeper has been the man of the match, even in the two league games that have ended 3-3.
“I am hoping that is not the case this time out and that we get the three points.”
Despite their disappointing run Garden is still targeting a play-off place for his side as he explained: “We have not won in six games but we are just one win away from getting back into the mix in the race for a play-off place. Hopefully we can do that against Elgin and then bring in some new faces next week to help push us higher.”
The Gable Endies have a major doubt over on-loan Dundee United defender Luke Johnston who has picked up a knock in training. However, everyone else is clear to play.
Elgin will be under the interim control of their former skipper Paul Kaczan and current captain David Niven following Jack’s time in charge coming to an end.
Niven is out injured with a toe problem and Brian Cameron remains absent with a broken bone in his foot.
