Ryan McGowan leaves Dundee United for Chinese club Henan Jianye

Dundee United defender Ryan McGowan is on his way back to China after agreeing to join Henan Jianye.

As revealed by Courier Sport earlier this week, the Chinese Super League side were keen to pay for the Australian and a second bid for him has been successful.

McGowan made 41 starts for the Tangerines, scoring one goal, but will now pursue his career back in the Far East, where spent a season with Shandong Taishan after leaving Hearts.

The player was due to be out of contract at Tannadice in the summer after being signed by Jackie McNamara a year ago.
