Former West Ham star Julien Faubert is on trial with Saints.

St Johnstone trialist Julien Faubert got a 45-minute run out against Hearts in a development league game.

And he was joined by Nigerian defender Daniel Adejo in Monday’s 2-1 win.

Former West Ham and Real Madrid midfielder Fauber, 32, will feature in a closed doors game later this week, along with one-time Reggina star Adejo, 26, and ex-Slavia Sofia centre back Plamen Krachuno, 27, as Perth manager Tommy Wright looks to freshen-up a squad which has slipped out of the top six.

Wright said: “All three took part in Tuesday’s training session. You can only play two trialists in a development league game so the plan was always for Julien to get a half and Daniel to play the whole game on Monday.

“We will have a close look at all three of them. There are a few things for me to consider but there is quality there. They are good players.”

The Perth club has also snapped-up former Middlesbrough kid Daniel Jardine.

The 18-year-old midfielder has penned an initial deal through to the end of the season and featured on the bench in the win over Hearts, with young winger Craig Thomson notching a double.

Jardine, who comes from Crieff, was with Hibs until he was 15 and had spells with the Nice and Monaco youth academies while his parents lived in the south of France.

He opted to sign for Boro ahead of a string of Scottish clubs on returning to the UK.

Alistair Stevenson, head of the Perth youth academy, has kept track of Jardine since his time at Easter Road and moved quickly to boost the development squad at McDiarmid Park.

Meanwhile former Saints striker Peter MacDonald is on course to start light training at the end of this month after an operation to sort a knee injury.

The 35-year-old Morton frontman has been out of action since October.
