Two months pass since last sighting of Angus woman Lorraine McRae

Lorraine McRae.

Police Scotland are still trying to find Angus woman Lorraine McRae, two months after she was last seen.

The last confirmed sighting of Lorraine, 51, was at about 5pm on Monday November 3 on the southbound platform of Montrose Railway Station.

There was intensive police activity in and around the Angus town at the onset of the enquiry, with Police Scotland’s helicopter providing aerial support, scanning the landscape for any signs of Lorraine.

Police also called on the support of the harbour master, coastguard and wildlife rangers at Montrose Basin, as well as their own specialist search advisers, in efforts to trace the missing woman. A review of public and private CCTV has also been carried out.

Missing person posters were handed out across the community and house-to-house enquiries carried out by police officers in a bid to jog memories. They also asked local residents to check sheds, garages and other outbuildings for signs that someone had sought refuge.

But there has been no further definitive information as to where Lorraine went after she was last seen on the railway platform.

Lorraine is about 5ft and very slim. When last seen, her hair was very distinctive dyed-blonde colour growing out of naturally dark brown hair.

She wore a white jacket with a fur-trimmed hood, blue skinny jeans and white trainers and was carrying a light-coloured canvas handbag.

Anyone who has seen Lorraine, or has information as to where she is now, should contact police on 101, or speak to any officer.
