Aspiring writers from around the world have the chance to see their work appearing in print alongside some of Scotland’s top young literary talents in a new anthology from Dundee-based Teckle Books later this year.

‘Logos in the Foam’ will be published in August this year and Teckle have invited submissions of short stories and extracts of novels of 500 and 5,000 words in length to appear in it.

The anthology will also feature previously unpublished work by Neil Forsyth, creator of the Bob Servant books and TV series, and Barry Phillips, author of ‘The Tartan Special One’.

Phillips’ book gave the world Jocky, who was last year voted Scotland’s 14th favourite literary character of all time in a poll by the Scottish Book Trust, and the novice author counts ‘Trainspotting’ author Irvine Welsh among his fans.

New work from another Teckle author Grant Hill, writer of ‘Clubbed to Death’, will also feature in ‘Logos in the Foam’.

“It’s a pleasure to be offering new writers the chance to be in print alongside Neil, Barry and Grant in our first anthology,” said Teckle Books director Frank Marra.

“We see this as a chance to meet new writing and fresh thinking authors from all over and we’re looking forward to finding out what will fit in best with our team for further development and possibly a book deal in future.

“There are so many talented writers out there who don’t even know it yet.

“The breakthrough success of our debut novelists are hopefully an inspiration for people to put pen to paper.

“If you’ve read anything we’ve put out so far, you’ll know there is very little off-limits.”

Entries must be submitted by May 15 and be original and unpublished.
