Lloyds Banking Group has been voted employer of the year by gay rights campaigners Stonewall Scotland.
The charity recognised Lloyds for its commitment to workplace equality at an event at the bank’s headquarters on the Mound in Edinburgh.
Stonewall named the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) as network group of the year and the NHS National Waiting Times Centre Board was singled out as most improved employer.
Colin Macfarlane, director of Stonewall Scotland, said: “Our award winners represent the organisations who are doing the most to further equality for their staff and who are making a difference to their workplaces every day.
“Our vision is of a Scotland where lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people can realise every ounce of their potential.”
Alison Brittain, of Lloyds Banking Group, said: “We’re passionate about ensuring our colleagues can be themselves in the workplace, and that everyone is treated fairly, with dignity and respect.
“This award is recognition of our progress to create a more inclusive and supportive working environment.”
Stonewall’s top 100 employers list is based on a range of indicators, including the results of confidential staff questionnaires.
