VIDEO: Queensferry Crossing project releases footage of B800 bridge work from start to finish

Motorists cheered this week’s news that a third weekend of Forth Road Bridge closures will not be needed.

The bridge had closed for two recent weekends to allow demolition crews to remove the old B800 bridge over the A90 south of Echline junction.

The work was part of road upgrades to support the new Queensferry Crossing over the Forth.

However, a final “reserve” weekend of work was not needed after crews pulled out all the stops to complete the work on time.

Steven Brown, road and infrastructure manager at Transport Scotland, said: “It’s a credit to the team at Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors (FCBC) and their subcontractors Beattie Demolition that they have completed the work on schedule and as planned, so the third reserve weekend is not now required.”

To celebrate a job well done, project chiefs have now released this video showing the complete project from construction of the new B800 bridge to the removal of the old.
