Almost 600 local business leaders will don their glad rags tonight for the second annual Courier Business Awards.
The glittering ceremony at the Fairmont St Andrews Resort will be hosted by television funnyman Hugh Dennis and will see 12 firms recognised for their efforts in fields as diverse as retail, digital and online, agriculture, tourism, leisure and hospitality and manufacturing.
Courier Country’s top family business will also be named, as will the best small firm operating in east central Scotland.
The awards are a fantastic showcase for businesses from throughout Tayside, Fife, Stirling and Clackmannanshire and The Mearns.
We were absolutely amazed at the quality of the entries yet again this year. As the video above shows, the inaugural 2013 awards were a huge success but they could well be surpassed this evening.
To have almost 600 local business people the innovators and ambassadors that make the economy of this part of world tick under one roof will be phenomenal.Follow on Twitter using #CourierBizAwardsAnd what makes it truly exciting is the range of businesses that will be there.
We have all sectors of the economy represented from the proverbial one-man band to those businesses representing east central Scotland on the global stage.
It is shaping up to be a great night.
In addition to the 12 individual categories, a further two awards will be handed out at the ceremony as the Courier’s overall Business of the Year is crowned and an individual is honoured for the Outstanding Contribution to the economic life of Courier Country.
The Courier Business Awards 2014 is being held in association with chartered accountants Henderson Loggie.
We will have live coverage online from 7pm onwards, with reports and pictures in Saturday’s paper.
