Leisure and travel firm Natural Retreats has been confirmed as the new operator of a major Scottish snowsports centre.
It will take on a 25-year lease to run Cairngorm Mountain from June.
The company had been named as preferred bidder for the site in February but its appointment was only confirmed by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) yesterday.
The business agency said the firm had brought forward a £6.2 million five-year investment plan which would secure the future of the resort for the next quarter of a century.
The enterprise body is supporting the investment with a £4m loan to develop a new lodge.
HIE said it will continue to own Cairngorm Estate, including the funicular railway and infrastructure on the mountain.
The new arrangement will see ownership of current operator Cairngorm Mountain Ltd transfer from HIE to Natural Retreats.
