Motoring enthusiasts in Tayside, Fife and Central helped to drive forward Scottish new car sales last month.
A total of 13,253 cars were registered north of the border in July, a 10% increase on the same period last year. Fife garages registered 692 vehicles, up from 627 a year earlier, while 958 cars rolled off forecourts in Tayside an almost 18% rise on 2012.
Buyers were also out in force in Central Scotland, where sales spiked 19.4% to 898 during the month.
New car registrations in Scotland in 2013 are running 13.7% ahead of the level seen at the same point last year, with the Ford Fiesta remaining the most popular car.
