Tony’s award was collected by his sister Terry on Saturday night but today he was quick to praise the Balhousie workforce for the firm’s success.

He said: “I’m delighted to have this recognition for Balhousie and its staff, especially at the end of three decades in business.

“I have always said that buildings don’t deliver care, people do.

“I am thankful to have had such a dedicated, talented workforce come on this journey with me to create not just a major force in social care, but a major Scottish employer.”

Courier Business Award ‘means the world’

Balhousie was selected for the Business of the Year award by our judging panel due to consistently investing in raising the standards in the sector. It also noted the group’s strong leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Deputy chief executive John Kirk said: “These awards are for our staff.

“They have worked tirelessly throughout the most challenging years the care sector has ever seen.
