One of Tayside’s most prominent property figures has joined Aberdein Considine to lead the firm’s expansion into Dundee.
Lindsay Darroch has left Blackadders, after a 20 year career, where he was a partner and the firm’s head of property.
As a partner at Aberdein Considine he will have responsibility for the firm’s Perth office and lead the firm’s move to Dundee, where it will open an office on Monday.
He said: “Aberdein Considine is a national law firm with an enviable track record in estate agency, property and private client services.
“It is committed to serving its clients both locally and digitally. No other law firm offers the diversity of service lines, including independent financial services, across Scotland.
“The business is moving into Dundee at an exciting time for the city, with the delivery of the Waterfront development. It is also a period of rising demand for property in the area.
“It is a clear vote of confidence in the regional economy, and the firm’s desire to offer clients national service at a local level.”
Aberdein Considine’s Dundee office will be based at the Flour Mill in Commercial Street.
Mr Darrock spent eight years on the board of the Tayside Solicitors Property Centre while at Blackadders.
He is also a trustee at DFC in the Community Trust, a board member at Caledonia Housing Association and clerk and boxmaster to The Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee.
Michael Sinclair, senior property partner at Aberdein Considine, said the firm was delighted to have such a well-known local figure to spearhead its Tayside residential property operations.
“For decades, Lindsay has been a leading figure in the property sector, and for many is the go-to expert on the Dundee and Tayside markets,” he said.
“His extensive experience is drawn on by individuals, companies and trusts who appreciate his hands-on advice.
“We already have a strong presence in the Angus market to the north and the Perth & Kinross market to the south, Lindsay’s appointment will allow us to extend this in Dundee with a well-respected local solicitor who has a love and passion for the area.”
Aberdein Considine offers a full range of property, legal and financial services to corporate, commercial and private clients across 20 offices throughout Scotland.
