Nearly £400,000 in funding has been secured by Dundee and Angus college to help train young people across the area.
New foundation apprenticeships will be available to school pupils in S4 or above.
59 students will take part in the apprenticeships covering financial services, software development and social services.
The opportunities are designed to help school-based pupils gain valuable experience within companies and other employers. Delivered over a two-year period they include work placements and the undertaking of a live client project.
Industry leaders such as chartered accountants Henderson Loggie, Dand Carnegie and EQ have signed up to the project.
The companies will offer between 12-15 vacancies with the college. A further 16 opportunities are available in software development, through web design and app development company, Zudu, and LOGICnow, an IT service platform.
Dundee City Council is also opening its doors for those seeking a career in the care industry with 14 places working with both children and young people, and healthcare.
D&A college customer engagement manager Karen Donaldson said: “Local market intelligence illustrates that financial services, software development and social services are all industries where there will be more positions needing to be filled in future.
“D&A college is reaching out to local secondary schools, pupils and parents to ensure that the foundation apprenticeship option is on offer to all senior pupils.”
An information session is taking place in Dundee on June 1 at 6pm.
