A man who assaulted a “friend” by butting him was ordered to pay his victim compensation.
Thomas Sandeman, 54, of Gorrie Terrace, had previously been found guilty after trial of assaulting John Fuller by striking him on the head with his head to his injury.
The trial heard Sandeman had been a friend of Mr Fuller and had installed a central heating boiler in his house but there had been a series of problems with the system.
When the boiler broke down again, Sandeman attended and an argument ensued, which ended with the assault on Mr Fuller.
Sheriff Alastair Brown ordered Sandeman to pay Mr Fuller compensation of £1,000.
