Dundee University has earned yet another honour after rising seven places for the second consecutive year in the Complete University Guide league table.

The University has been ranked top in the UK for Forensic Science in the 2017 rankings, released on Monday April 25.

The University has now moved to 35th in the overall table, from 49th two years ago.

The Complete University Guide table continues a strong run of rankings results for the institution.

Dundee was recently named the top UK institution in the Times Higher Education’s “150 under 50 2016”-a ranking of the world’s top universities under 50 years of age-and is The Times & Sunday Times Scottish University of the Year.

Professor Sir Pete Downes, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the institution, said: “This is yet another strong showing for us in a ranking that is driven by things which really matter to students and those who are considering going to University.

“Our excellent student experience rankings and strong performance relating to the employability of our graduates are among the factors driving this rise.”

Dundee tops the subject table for Forensic Science, reflecting the University’s standing as one of the world’s foremost institutions in the field.

Commenting on the publication, department lead, Professor Sue Black, said: “This ranking reaffirms the place that Dundee holds within forensic science and is a real testament to our forensic staff.”
