A legend of Scottish folk music legend is plotting a course for Perth.
Archie Fisher, who has been entertaining audiences since the 1960s, will be performing at the recently launched Perth Folk Club at the city’s Green Room.
The 76-year-old Glaswegian came out of the UK folk scene which was championed by the likes of John Peel and spawned the Incredible String Band, Steeleye Span and Bert Jansch.
Fisher has released several solo albums since his debut in 1968. He also performed several times with Barbara Dickson.
He was made an MBE in the New Years Honours List in 2006 and most recently won a new generation of fans with a guest appearance on a recorded by Scottish indie band Frightened Rabbit.
A spokeswoman for Perth Folk Club said: “Archie Fisher is beloved worldwide as one of the finest traditional singers of all time. We can’t wait to have him with us.”
Fisher will play the club on Tuesday, June 28, from 8pm. Tickets are on sale online or at Byers and Co, in the city’s George Street.
