Montrose boss looking for a better start By Eric Nicolson March 11 2017, 9:00am March 11 2017, 9:00am Share Montrose boss looking for a better start Share via Facebook Twitter Linkedin Whatsapp Messenger Email Post link https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/384512/montrose-boss-looking-better-start/ Copy Link Stewart Petrie. Montrose boss Stewart Petrie has called for his players to repeat the way they finished last weekend’s match, not the way they started it. The Angus club gave themselves too much to do after a disappointing opening 45 minutes against Annan Athletic that left them 3-1 down. The second period was a big improvement, however, with the Links Park men unlucky in the end that they couldn’t turn 3-2 into 3-3. And Petrie is hoping that lessons have been learned when they welcome Stirling Albion today. “I can never fault the guys for effort,” he said. “But we were a bit naïve with some of our defending. “There are a lot of points for us still to play for and we want to make sure we keep away from the danger area. “Dave Mackay has come in and changed things around at Stirling and they’ve been on a good run of form. “But we’re determined to put in a good performance in front of our supporters.” Chris Hegarty and Ryan Ferguson are the only players sidelined.
