St Johnstone’s Taylor Steven has been called up for the Scotland under-20 squad.
Steven, who became a regular starter for Simo Valakari over the last few weeks, has been selected for a friendly against Slovakia.
The match in Bratislava takes place on Friday.
Steven has benefitted from several loan spells before making his mark on the Saints first team.
After dropping down the divisions in Scotland with East Fife and Alloa, he joined Cliftonville in the summer.
That season-long loan was cut short in January, when Valakari recalled him early.
He caught the eye of the Perth head coach on the training ground and then scored as a substitute in a league game against Motherwell.
Valakari has deployed Steven as a left-back or left wing-back in the post-split Premiership matches, where he has combined well with Josh McPake.
