Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has named the 36-man squad which will line-up against the All Blacks, Australia and Samoa for the Autumn Test series.

Ten uncapped players have been selected, however captain Greig Laidlaw will sit out the November games after being ruled out due to injury. Fraser Brown is also missing due to a knee problem.

Full-back and British and Irish Lion Stuart Hogg has been named in the squad after making his Glasgow Warriors comeback.

Greig Laidlaw reacts after his injury during Clermont-Ferrand’s ERCC game against Ospreys on Sunday.

But there is no place for Edinburgh flanker John Hardie, who has been suspended by both club and country amid reports of alleged cocaine use.

Townsend said: “The players selected have worked exceptionally hard at their clubs to earn inclusion in the national squad and we’re looking forward to working with them throughout the autumn series.

“They will need to intensify their efforts further still to earn the opportunity and honour of play in front of capacity crowds in what are three exciting fixtures.

“We’re facing two of the world’s top three sides after a significant challenge from Samoa in our opening game. It will be an excellent challenge for our players.”
