The 1975 are set to perform their biggest UK headline concert to date for 45,000 fans in London’s Finsbury Park this summer.

The indie-rock band, who scooped the Brit award for best rock/alternative act on Saturday, recently concluded their At Their Very Best UK tour following the release of their fifth studio album Being Funny In A Foreign Language.

The 1975, consisting of frontman Matty Healy, guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel, will take over Finsbury Park on July 2 to play alongside dream pop band Cigarettes After Sex, indie-pop singer The Japanese House, and rock bands American Football and Bleachers – the latter fronted by Grammy award-winning record producer Jack Antonoff.

The band formed in Cheshire in 2002 after the foursome met at secondary school and later signed to Dirty Hit records.

They recently made headlines for a number of viral moments to have come out of the At Their Very Best tour, which saw a show-within-a-show stage set-up, featuring a multi-room, house-like arrangement as the backdrop.

The tour, which featured high-profile guest appearances from Taylor Swift and Lewis Capaldi, also saw the band’s previous biggest show, which took place at the O2 before 20,000 fans.

Following the release of their self-titled debut in 2013, The 1975 have hit the number one spot on the official UK album charts with all five of their studio albums.

The 1975 have previously headlined Reading and Leeds Festivals, once in 2019 and again in 2022 after Rage Against The Machine were forced to pulled out over a medical issue.

Further acts are also expected to be added to the Finsbury Park line-up in due course.

Pre-sale tickets for the Finsbury Park show will go on sake from February 15 at 9am, followed by general sale tickets on February 17 at 9am.
