Police say the suspicious death of a man in Forfar in the early hours of this morning is being treated as murder.
Police attended at a flat in Manor Court, Myre Road, shortly after 1am and found the body of a man. It followed reports of a disturbance.
It is understood the man was in his 40s and had sustained a number of injuries.
He was declared dead at the scene. His details have not yet been formally identified.
Police say a 45-year-old woman has been detained in connection with the incident and is assisting them with inquiries.
The incident sparked intense police activity in two parts of Forfar.
Manor Court, a converted former textile works, was cordoned off from both The Myre and Manor Street, the main vehicular access to the residential complex.
Police also cordoned off a house on the town’s Glamis Road, near the West Port traffic lights.
