Officers from Tayside Police community task force capped their latest deployment to Arbroath, by disposing of alcohol taken from under-age drinkers.
The specialist unit has been deployed in the town for the last three months, tackling problems such as illegal drugs activity, anti-social behaviour and a range of other crimes.
Bottles of vodka and spiced rum were taken from children in their mid-teens, in addition to cans and bottles of lager, cider and alcopops.
In addition to the crackdown in Arbroath the team, consisting of one sergeant and five constables, has been targeting issues in Carnoustie and Monifieth.
During their stay in Angus officers were involved in enforcement and community engagement and took part in a five-a-side football project at the Saltire Centre.
Working with local authorities and other partner agencies and volunteers, the task force had its maiden deployment in Arbroath in 2008.
Inspector Fiona Jarrett said, “The task force presence in Arbroath, Carnoustie and Monifieth has had a great impact on the community.”
During a blitz in May, 300 drinkers were searched for weapons and seven properties were raided after drug search warrants were obtained.
Three people were reported for offences relating to cannabis resin. A disqualified driver was arrested and six drivers were also issued fines for speeding. A further 16 motorists were warned for speeding and other driving issues.
The team recovered £300 of stolen property and arrested seven people for crimes such as shoplifting and theft.
