The Indians are coming at Rowanlea Riding Schools 50th anniversary exhibition evening near Carnoustie.

The 50th anniversary of a Tayside riding school has been celebrated at a spectacular exhibition evening.

Rowanlea Riding School was established in 1965 by the late David Conchie Sr at Craigie Home Farm in Dundee.

He moved to West Cotside of Barry in Angus in May 1966 where the riding school remains.

Mr Conchie built up the school from just a few ponies to more than 120 horses.

Known affectionately as Mr C, he became a well-respected name in the equestrian world, known for training horses and building the school into the institution it is today.

The school is now overseen by his daughter Irene and his son David is also heavily involved.

The event featured several displays including a parade, an appearance by cowboys and Indians, a show jumping demonstration and team games.

Champion showjumpers Scott Brash and Harvey Smith sent their best wishes to the school.

The evening raised more than £2,100 for Parkinson’s UK.
