Fine start to season at Stonehaven open-air pool

Just a couple of days after the north Scotland saw a late blast of snow, Stonehaven open-air pool officials declared the warm weekend opening of the popular attraction a minor miracle.

Rising mercury greeted Saturday’s opening day visitors, setting the scene for a busy weekend at the popular attraction as swimmers took the plunge into the 29-degree heated water.

The Olympic-size pool, opened in 1934, will now welcome visitors until September 1. It is operated through a partnership between the Friends of Stonehaven Open Air Pool and Aberdeenshire Council.
