A house already being built has been given retrospective planning consent by councillors.
The property at 7 Suttieside Road was originally given the green light in 2009, but after work began on site the council stepped in to investigate compliance with a drainage condition attached to the permission.
Work resumed at the end of last year but, with the original permission having expired, the applicant had to make a fresh bid to Angus development standards committee.
The retrospective application attracted several letters of objection from neighbours who complained modifications had been made to the original plan.
Planning officials said they were content that on balance the changes would not have any unacceptable amenity impacts.
“It is relevant to consider that planning permission has previously been granted at the application site for a one-and-a-half-storey house of an identical footprint and height,” stated the report to councillors.
“Although the house has been constructed 1.8m closer to the east boundary than previously permitted, it is not considered that the difference between the proposed and actual location of the house would have an overbearing or unacceptable impact on the amenity of neighbouring properties.”
