Drivers are facing several nights of disruption next week due to the resurfacing of one of Dundee’s busiest roundabouts.

Bear Scotland will be carrying out the work at the roundabout by the Landmark Hotel where the A90 meets Riverside Avenue.

A contraflow will be in place between Sunday and Friday, 7.30pm to 6.30am.

For the first two nights, the short section Dykes of Gray Road between the roundabout and the hotel will be closed. There will be an alternative route past Liff Hospital and along Gourdie Brae and the northern leg of Myrekirk Road.

The work will then result in the closure for two or three nights of the section of Riverside Avenue between the roundabout and the technology park entrance.

An alternative route will be available via Kingsway West, the southern leg of Myrekirk Road, Explorer Road and Apollo Way.

There are long-term plans to upgrade the A90/Riverside Avenue junction, possibly involving a new road layout and the replacement of the roundabout with a signalised junction.

However, these will only go ahead when the Western Gateway house-building scheme on land between Liff and the city is well advanced.

Next week will also see the start of lane closures between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Coupar Angus Road at the junctions with Lochee High Street and Marshall Street while signalisation work is carried out.

This is expected to last for three weeks from Monday.
