Development chief looks to regneration beyond Dundee Waterfront project

The redevelopment guru in Dundee has set his sights on pumping hundreds of millions of pounds into new regeneration projects.
The waterfront revamp has just passed the halfway stage and Mike Galloway, director of city development, has indicated that huge sums could be injected into new projects.
Speaking at Dundee’s Economic Summit, he said: “I’d like to think about the future now. All of this will be completed in two-and-a-half years’ time.
“We now, as a city council and as a partnership, have to look further ahead at what we are going to do 10 years from now and how we get the resources to do that.
“We are thinking about investment of hundreds of millions of pounds, to keep Dundee moving.”
As the waterfront regeneration takes shape, the public will have more and more access to new areas.
The southern boulevard is expected to open by the end of June and the green area in the centre of the development will be open in the next 18 months or so.
