Power cuts leave hundreds of homes in Dundee and Angus without electricity
ByRachel McConachie
Hundreds of homes in Dundee and Angus suffered several power cuts as Scottish Hydro Electric engineers searched for a fault in the line.
Around 500 homes were repeatedly plunged into darkness following the loss of power, which began around 7.45pm on Thursday evening and lasted well into the night.
Residents in Broughty Ferry, Tealing, Kellas, Wellbank and Strathmartin were among those affected by the outage.
Scottish Hydro Electric engineers worked to locate the fault and in doing so had to isolate several areas throughout the evening.
By midnight only nine homes were without power and a Scottish Hydro Electric spokesman estimated that power would be restored by 1.30am.
