Deadlock remains between Unite and NHS Tayside as the porters’ strike enters a third week.
As patients complain of rubbish piling up in the hallways and unpaid staff volunteering for portering duties, it appears very little has changed in the dispute.
NHS Tayside will hold a board meeting today in which the director of HR will give an update.
Board members are also to receive a deputation from Unite, calling for an inquiry into management conduct during the industrial action.
George Doherty, director of HR, said, “NHS Tayside has presented a proposal to Unite in which the process issues raised in relation to the grading of some porters be subject to separate consideration by NHS Scotland’s Scottish Terms & Conditions Committee (STAC).
“It is our hope that this review by STAC will provide the platform upon which the dispute can be resolved.”
